K-9 Prompts Burglary Suspect To Quickly Surrender
SACRAMENTO, Calif. -- A car burglary suspect quickly gave up when he heard a K-9 coming for him in a north Sacramento neighborhood early Thursday, police said.
Officers had been searching for the suspect Wednesday after a victim gave them a description of the burglar, his vehicle and its license plate. They were concerned because the victim reported a gun and ammunition had been stolen. Police said they eventually tracked down the vehicle, a Ford Bronco, overnight, and chased it to an area near Pinedale Avenue. The burglar ran on foot to a levee and hid in some bushes, police said. But when the officers sent a K-9 after him, he turned on his flashlight and gave up.
