Bank Heist Suspects Nabbed After Crash
SACRAMENTO COUNTY, Calif. -- Two people wanted in connection with a Sacramento County bank heist were arrested after a chase and crash Tuesday afternoon.
Sheriff's spokesman Sgt. Tim Curran said the River City Bank branch on the 900 block of Howe Avenue was robbed just before 5 p.m. An arson investigator saw the suspects fleeing, Curran said. Deputies spotted the pair at Bell Avenue and Hurley Way and pursued them through north Sacramento, ending when their pickup truck crashed into a fence near Dry Creek and Neal roads. Curran said one of the suspects stayed in the pickup truck, but the other fled and was caught by a K-9. He was being treated for wounds. One suspect had a large amount of money in his pocket, Curran said. He added that deputies also recovered a weapon. Neither suspect's name was immediately released.
