Officer Steve Thomson
K9 : Crash
Officer Steven Thomson joined the Sacramento Police Department in 1994. For almost 12 years, Officer Thomson patrolled the North Sacramento area on the graveyard shift and concentrated his efforts on the suppression of stolen vehicles. During that time, he was also a full-time Field Training Officer. In 2001, he completed the departments EVOC instructors course(Emergency Vehicle Operations Course) and began teaching in the academy setting. In 2007, Officer Thomson was selected to become a member of the full-time EVOC team and instructed drivers training for almost 2 years. Subsequently, Officer Thomson then transferred to the K9 unit in 2008 where he was partnered with K9 Crash.
K9 Crash was born in February of 2006 and imported into the United States from the Republic of Czechoslovakia. Crash came to the Sacramento Police Department by way of a generous donation from the B-Line Construction Company and the Lattuada family. Crash is a low-key dog with a mild disposition but turns it on when its time to work. K9 Crash enjoys looking for stolen vehicles and actively searches for felonious activity on the streets. At home, Crash is an important member of Officer Thomson’s family and is most happy with a tennis ball in his mouth while laying poolside.
